Among the recent important decisions of the Russian authorities are a number of tax changes concerning the exemption from income tax of certain payments and the extension of VAT benefits.
Attention should be paid to the following points:
- the application of the zero VAT rate for the sale of ships owned by a Russian leasing company and registered in the Russian International Register of Ships has been extended for 2023;
- the rules for crediting corporate income tax calculated at the rate of 20% have been extended until 2030, as well as the validity period of reduced corporate income tax rates;
- now, daily allowances and other unaccountable amounts of no more than 700 rubles are exempt from personal income tax in connection with business trips, as well as income in the form of gratuitous transfer of funds and other property of the mobilized and their families. Currently, the conditions for the release of income from the sale of securities are being clarified;
- there is no need to pay personal income tax on the amounts of premiums of the President of the Russian Federation, income from the sale of shares and bonds of Russian companies, investment units, income in connection with the completion of obligations under the loan agreement for the same category of citizens.
It is noteworthy that the law extends until December 31, 2023 the powers of the Government of the Russian Federation to issue regulations on the timing of tax control measures.
